What are some proper dieting rules

When working in an intense exercise program, it is vitally important that you couple this with a good nutritional plan. Especially if your exercise goal includes one of fat loss, you'll want to make sure to keep up with proper dieting rules. Losing fat doesn't mean stop eating. Let your body work those things out during your recovery period after working out.

That said, it is important not to exclude certain foods from your diet. Especially fruits, such as berries, grapefruits, apples and oranges. You should be eating at least three servings of these per day.

Along with fruits, there are other foods that should be on your daily menu. Green tea, almonds, broccoli and a variety of lean protein sources all provide your body with a healthy dose of energy to keep you going. Rule of thumb to follow? Just choose healthy, whole natural foods, and stay away from white, processed carbohydrates, like the kind you would buy in a box or a bag.

In the world of exercise and dieting, there are a lot of mistakes going on. Let's call them “misconceptions.” When it comes to performing better and looking better, people are trying different things – different exercise routines, using machines, or weights, or stairs and steps – and especially different diets, all with lousy results.

Why is this? Why do people follow the latest “diet craze”, hoping that this will be the one to get them into the clothes they wore in junior high school. They follow this diet for about a week, give up, then wait for the next craze so they can disappoint themselves again. What's going on here?

What's going on is that people just aren't being honest with themselves. They think that by cutting corners, by cheating on their diet here and there, by skipping out on a day of exercise, that no one would notice and thereby hold them accountable. But you can't do that to yourself. If you want to improve your health and your lifestyle, you have got to choose a few things in your life.

Don't seek approval from others for a lackadaisical job of dieting and exercise. Have a support group, by all means. But have them support you on your goals, not for skipping out on those goals. Tell your support group to hold you to the highest standards you can commit to, then do it. Stick to it. Your support group will be there to cheer you on.

So, if your workouts are not giving you what you want, if you have yet to see results from all those trips to the gym, don't just give up. Change your workout routine. In some cases, your workout routine may need to be changed drastically for you to finally see the results you are working for.

If you think you are eating better and using a better exercise program, take a good look at yourself. Are you the best you that you can be? Have you achieved the look and feel that you want? If you haven't, then I think by now you know what you have to do.

It is human nature to not see our shortcomings, which is why we often go to support groups or have a professional trainer to help us see through these things, to get to the core of these issues. As a friend to you, I urge you to take an honest look at yourself. You could be missing out on a lot healthier lifestyle.
